Joyce M. Zweizig, 89, of Perry Township, passed away on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 in Orwigsburg Center. She was the wife of Leroy C. Zweizig, who died June 14, 2002. They were married on October 28, 1950 and had celebrated fifty-two years of marriage at the time of his death.
Born in Longswamp Township on June 30, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Clatus E. and Marie A. (Behm) Guinther. Joyce was a life-long dairy farmer in Perry Twp. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed sewing. Joyce was a member of St. Michael's Church, Tilden Twp.
Joyce is survived by her children: Larry D. Zweizig, husband of Diane (Phillips); and Roger L. Zweizig, husband of Kathleen (Kerner), both of Shoemakersville; Diane M. (Zweizig), wife of Donald Kerchner, Lenhartsville; and Jane M. (Zweizig), wife of Ronald Hunsicker, Hughesville; seven grandchildren: Ann Marie Betty, wife of Matt; Kristy Petersen, wife of John; Katie Kerchner; Rachel Kerchner; Travis Zweizig, fiance of Ambriehl Hartman; Trent Zweizig; and Kennedy Zweizig; three step-grandchildren: Veronica (Hussman), wife of Eric Schrack; Kerry Evans, husband of Riah; and Kelly Evans, fiance of Nelson Lopez; four great-grandchildren: Sara Betty; Elisha Betty; Liliana Petersen and Miranda Petersen; and seven step-great-grandchildren: Liane, Jacob, Brennah, Raeya, McKynzie, QuinRiley, and Leighton. She is also survived by a brother: Carl K. Guinther. Joyce was predeceased by a son: Richard S. Zweizig, who died February 19, 2018; and a sister: Anna L. Gruber.
Services will be held on Friday at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street, Hamburg (off street parking in rear). Burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Tilden Twp.
