Obituary for John E. Rittle

John E. Rittle, 68, of North Heidelberg Twp., passed away on Monday, February 7, 2022 in his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Barbara A. (Oxenreider) Rittle. They were married on September 11, 1976 and celebrated forty-five years of marriage.
Born in West Reading, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Gloria H. (Harnish) Rittle. John was a 1971 graduate of Conrad Weiser High School. He was a self-employed truck driver; and last worked at Penske. John was a member of Zion's Church, Perry Twp. He was a member of the NRA and the Robesonia Fish and Game Association. John was a taxi-driver for Amish families. He took pride in planting 145 blueberry bushes and having people come and pick-their-own. John enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting and anything in the outdoors. He also found joy is rescuing dogs and training them.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three children: Julie A. (Rittle), wife of Bradley Smith, Windsor Twp.; Justin J. Rittle, Bethel; and Jenny M. Rittle, Wernersville; and three grandchildren: Kamryn, Addisyn and Sawyer. John is also survived by his three sisters: Charlia Koch, widow of Dennis, Robesonia; Lisa Nikkel, wife of Carl, Bakersfield, CA; and Jannifer Cayless, wife of Robert, Lancaster; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for John will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am from Zion's Church, 770 Zion's Church Road, Hamburg. A visitaiton with the family will be held in the church Saturday 9:30 to 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to The Sanctuary at Haafsville, 901 Nestle Way, Breinigsville, PA 18031.
