Joan C. Sayer, 85, of Centre Twp., passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2022 in her residence. She was the wife of the late Clifford G. Sayer, Sr., died July 3, 2014.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late William A. and Mildred N. (Bear) DeLong. She was a member of Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Perry Twp. She graduated from Reading High School in 1955. Joan worked as a sewing machine operator at Globe Underwear, Shoemakersville before retiring in 1999. She enjoyed puzzles, playing word games on her tablet, and attending the former Jam Sessions in Centerport. She enjoyed Bluegrass music. Joan always kept her family in line.

She is survived by four sons: Michael A. Sayer, husband of Marsha, Hamburg, Steven S. Sayer, Hamburg, Barry W. Sayer, husband of Sue, Temple, Clifford G. Sayer, Jr., Mohrsville; a daughter: Cindy (Sayer) Spencer, wife of Darryl, Shoemakersville; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her beloved cat named Cat. She was predeceased by a daughter: Brenda Lee Sayer; and a sister: Nancy E. (DeLong) Krick.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 9, 2022 at 10:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street Hamburg (off-street parking in rear). Burial will follow in Zion's Cemetery, Perry Twp. A viewing will be held from 9:00 to 10:00 am in the funeral home.
