Joan E. Rodeffer, 77, of Perry Twp., passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2018 in the Reading Hospital with her family by her side. She was the wife of F. Dennis Rodeffer. They were married on September 15, 1962 and celebrated fifty-six years of marriage.
Born in Lebanon, she was the daughter of the late Abram L. and Laura M. (Light) Smith. Joan was a 1958 graduate of Cornwall High School. She worked as a bookkeeper for G.R. Klinefelters Underwriters Inc/, Ephrata. She was a member of Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Perry Twp. Joan enjoyed going to the home Penn State football games with her daughter Kami; and loved going to the beach. She was a wonderful cook. Joan especially enjoyed spending time with her family. They were all able to share Thanksgiving together at her home on Thursday.
Surviving in addition to her husband are three daughters: Kami J. Rodeffer, Reading; Kim D. (Rodeffer), wife of Michael Hollinger, Stony Creek; and Lori L. (Rodeffer), wife of Jim Borowski, Chalfont; and three grandchildren: Nicholas, Madison, and Ryland.
Joan's family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the nurses and staff of N-ICU and chaplains of the Reading Hospital for their medical and spiritual support.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 am from Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 354 Zion's Church Road, Shoemakersville, PA.
