Obituary for Jane E. Thomas
On October 28, 2022, we said goodbye to Jane Elizabeth Thomas-Frey, wife, mother and grandmother, in her Greenfields home after a long courageous battle against Alzheimers.
Jane is survived by her husband of nearly thirty-four years, Leroy G. Frey, marrying him on Christmas Eve 1988; daughter: Ashley L. Frey; grandson: Vincent Zambrana; a granddaughter expected in December; and sister: Susan Kalfas.
Born in West Reading on June 21, 1951, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Louise E. (Seaman) Thomas. Growing up in Hamburg, Jane was a member of the four musketeers, a name given to her close group of friends. She graduated from Hamburg Area High School in 1969. From 1967-1968, she was a Rotary Exchange Student in Santa Rosa, Argentina. Jane then graduated from the University of New Mexico in 1973. She retired from CNA insurance in 1998, where she was an insurance underwriter consultant.
Jane's wish was to have her body donated to science through the Humanity Gifts Registry.
A celebration of Jane's life will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 12:00 noon at Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street, Hamburg (off street parking in rear). A time for sharing remembrances of Jane will be offered during this time. A visitation with the family will be held in the funeral home Saturday 11:00 am to 12:00 noon.
