Iva E. Correll, 88, of Windsor Twp., passed away, Wednesday, October 17, 2018 in Laurel Center, Tilden Twp. She was the wife of the late Raymond M. Correll, died February 27, 2008.
Born in Windsor Twp., she was the daughter of the late Adam W. and Minnie A. (Bailey) Schappell. She was a member of Zion's Church, Hamburg. She worked as a floor lady at R.P. Miller for 35 years, retiring in 1995. She was a member of Shoemakersville Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and Union Fire Co. No. 1 of Hamburg Ladies Auxiliary, Shoemakersville Senior Citizens, and Hawk Mountain Civic Club. She volunteered with the Northern Berks Food Pantry in Hamburg, and was a Sunday School teacher at church. She was always family oriented, and will be remembered for always being willing to help other people. She enjoyed talking on the phone, baking, sending greeting cards, and gardening.
She is survived by a daughter: Patricia A. (Correll) Merkt, wife of Robert L. Merkt, Tilden Twp; a daughter in law: Beverly A. (Bausher) Bubbenmoyer, Hamburg; four grandchildren: Melody (Schlegel) Kuykendall, Tad Schlegel, Jeffrey Bubbenmoyer, and Julie (Bubbenmoyer) Keck; six great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son: Paul W. Bubbenmoyer, died August 22, 2016, and her brothers: Henry S. Schappell and Calvin A. Schappell.
Services will be held Friday, October 19, 2018 at 12:00 pm from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street Hamburg (Off-Street Parking in Rear). Burial will follow in Zion's Cemetery, Perry Twp. A viewing will be held from 11:00 to 12:00 pm in the funeral home.
