Obituary for Henry J. Trexler

Henry J. Trexler, 85, of Hamburg, passed away Friday, October 8, 2021 in Lutheran Home at Topton. He was the husband of Eleanor E. (West) Trexler. They were married March 2, 1957 and celebrated 64 years of marriage.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Richard J. and Veronica (Carr) Trexler. He was a member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Hamburg. He worked at Parrish corporation and later DANA as a welder and crane operator for 35 years, before retiring in 1995. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, and Ancient Order of Hibernians. He enjoyed the Philadelphia Eagles, his pipes and cigars, and collecting canes. He always loved his family, and enjoyed the history of his family.

Surviving in addition to his wife is a son: Brian H. Trexler, husband of April, Florida; two daughters: Brenda L. (Trexler) Henne, widow of Dean F. Henne, and companion of Jeffrey M. Yarko, Tennessee, and Elizabeth A. (Trexler) Schaeffer, wife of Maclane, Lenhartsville; 10 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings: Thomas, Charles, Marie, Cathy, Veronica, and Pat. He was predeceased by his siblings: Arthur, Frank, Richard, and Joy. He was predeceased by an infant son: Henry L. Trexler, in 1975.

Services will be held Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street Hamburg (Off-Street Parking in Rear). A viewing will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 am in the funeral home on Wednesday.

Burial will be held Thursday, October 14, 2021 at 10:00 am in St. Mary's Cemetery, N. 5th Street, Hamburg.
