Obituary for Helen M. Seitzinger

Helen May Seitzinger (Seaman) was born on March 31, 1930, daughter of the late Mamie (Mengel) and John Seaman and stepfather Earl Brown. Helen is resting eternal since December 11, 2021. She grew up in rural Shartlesville, Pennsylvania, without electricity, running water or inside bathroom facilities; a bygone era. She met John Jacob Seitzinger as they went to Upper Bern Elementary grade school together with Helen being the only girl who could run as fast as John during recess. A budding romance was born. John courted Helen while riding his horse to her home a mile outside of town, eventually marrying on December 4th, 1954 after John returned from a stint in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Helen graduated from Hamburg High School in 1948, and became a Licensed Practical Nurse working in Reading for several years. She later worked many years at the family's Haag's Hotel. Helen was a lifelong devout member of Frieden’s Church, Shartlesville, and a 15-year member of the Shartlesville Lions Club. She was the most wonderful mother on earth to eight children, bestowing them all with a nature-themed middle name: Bonnie Lake, companion of Samuel Stallard, Ashley Moon, husband of Peggy (Broughall), Tracy Brooke, husband of Tina (Hoch), John Frost, husband of Suzanne (Anker), Troy Oak, companion of Michele Miller, Tammie Echo, companion of Scott Grynastyl, Dr. Jed Spruce, husband of Michele (Christman), and Dana Snow, husband of Kathy (Patrick). She deeply loved her 28 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren (with #39 due in February). Helen was pre-deceased by granddaughter Taylor Nicole Seitzinger in March 2009, whom she is surely glad to be seeing again in Heaven, where we hope to reunite with them some fine day. Till we meet again, Mom and Grandma, we all love you!
