H. Lee Mengle, 87, of Ontelaunee Twp., passed away Saturday, January 16, 2021 in his residence. He was the husband of Ruth A. (Kline) Mengle.
Born in Jalappa, Tilden Twp. on the family farm, he was the son of the late William R. and Miranda E. (Schloppich) Mengle. Lee was a member of St. Michael's Church, Tilden Twp. He was a US Army Veteran. He worked as lead operator in the Hose Department at Polymer Corporation for 25 years. He enjoyed going to listen to country music on the weekend, and sitting at the mall on a Friday and Saturday night when he wasn't listening to country music. He enjoyed visiting with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons: Larry L. husband of Sharon J. (Kemp) Mengle, and Robert A. husband of Cindy L. (Craig) Mengle, Muhlenberg Twp.; a daughter: Barbara A. (Mengle) Bittner, wife of David, Centre Twp.; seven grandchildren: Jeremy Miller, Miranda (Mengle) Reeser (Matt), Jared Mengle (Shawna), Aimee (Mengle) Heller (Owen), Allyson (Mengle) Schwartzmiller (Matt), Jennifer Mengle, and Kendra Mengle; and nine great-grandchildren: Aidan Miller, Wyatt and Eliza Reeser, Joseph and Vincent Heller, Grace and Amerlia Schwartzmiller, Tanner and Tucker Mengle. He was predeceased by a granddaughter: Katelynn Mengle, and a brother: Earl Mengle.
Graveside Services will be held Monday, January 25, 2021 at 11:00 am in St. Michael's Cemetery, Tilden Twp.
