Obituary for Gerard F. Fitzgerald

Gerard F. Fitzgerald, "Jerry", 67, of Windsor Township, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 20, 2021. He was the loving husband of Teresa A. “Terri” (Kushmeder) Fitzgerald.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Gerard F. and Alice E. (Birks) Fitzgerald. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Jerry completed a five-year program for welding and was a welder at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard until their closing June, 1995. Jerry and Terri then moved out to Morrison, CO and became members of Conference Baptist Church (now Aspen Ridge Church.) Jerry went to Red Rocks Community College, Lakewood, CO for fine woodworking. Jerry was a woodworker crafting high-end trim work, fine furniture and custom garage doors.
Jerry went on a mission's trip in 2010 to Uruguay, South America to help build a new church. He was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, Sinking Spring, where he was a deacon for many years. Jerry and his family went on mission's trips (along with other families from their church) to Restoration Farm in Crewe, VA, in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019.
Jerry was a devoted husband, father, and friend. He enjoyed going on family vacations, taking care of his family, home schooling his children, helping with their home school co-op, Kardia, and spending time with his grandson, Liam. Jerry had a Godly presence, a servant's heart and was very humble. He was always willing to help others and lend a helping hand. He loved to read the Bible and serve his family, church, and community. Jerry was a stay-at-home dad for six years until he returned to work at Walmart in December, 2014. He also enjoyed music and playing the guitar. He enjoyed learning and playing his new Jazz electric guitar in his semi-retirement.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his five children: Chris Fitzgerald, Sierra Fitzgerald, Aicha Fitzgerald, Zechariah Fitzgerald and Charli-Grace Fitzgerald and his grandson, Liam. Jerry is also survived by his sister, Suzanne Keashon, his brother-in-laws, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He is also survived by his mother-in-law,
Margaret Kushmeder, widow of William Joseph Kushmeder. He was predeceased by his sister, Patricia Colella, wife of Bruno.
