Obituary for Gary L. Shuman
Gary L. Shuman, 66, of Centre Twp., passed away Thursday, December 8, 2022 in his residence. He was the husband of Laura J. (Royle) Shuman. They were married April 21, 1979 and celebrated 43 years of marriage.
Born in Reading, he was the son of Robert L. Shuman, Maidencreek Twp.; and the late Gloria M. (Bagenstose) Shuman. He was a member of St. Michael's Church, Tilden Twp. He graduated from Fleetwood High School in 1974. Gary worked as a machinist at Carpenter Technology for 35 years before retiring in 2016. He was a member of the International Order of Odd Fellows- Shillington, where he was a former Noble Grand. He enjoyed hunting, camping, and the beach. Gary loved to watch and attend NASCAR races. He also loved Jeeps. Gary enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a son: Daniel L. Shuman, husband of Amy L. (Schneiderhan), Sinking Spring, a daughter: Heather M. (Shuman), wife of Dan J. Forrer, Leola; three grandchildren: Noah Forrer, Ella Forrer, and Bodie Shuman. He is also survived by two brothers: Dean A. Shuman, husband of Julia, Maidencreek Twp., and Keith R. Shuman, Maidencreek Twp.; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be held Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at 12 noon from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street Leesport. A visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 12 noon.
