Obituary for Frank R. Kachurka
Frank R. Kachurka, 79, of West Brunswick Twp., Schuylkill County, passed away Monday, January 8, 2024 in his residence.
Born in Bloomsburg, he was the son of the late Frank F., and Katherine E. (Lucas) Kachurka. He graduated from Berwick High School. Frank was a US Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam era. Frank worked at TRW, Danville after returning from the Army and before becoming a Pennsylvania State Trooper for 22 years active duty, retiring in 1992. He always enjoyed projects around the house. Early in his police career, he worked undercover drugs and major case work in 23 different counties in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland. He also covered certain patrol duties in Hamburg, Schuylkill Haven, and Reading.
He is survived by a daughter: Kelly (Kachurka) Riegel, wife of Ashley M., Hamburg; two grandchildren: Madison and Carter; three brothers: Michael D., Patrick F., and David S. Kachurka; and three sisters: Colette J. (Kachurka) Ashton, Jane L. (Kachurka) Hollingshead, and Catherine M. (Kachurka) Smith. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
