Obituary for Edward W. Masters
Edward W. Masters, 96, of Shoemakersville, passed away Friday, February 10, 2023 in Laurel Center, Tilden Twp. He was the husband of the late Janet H. (Hittinger) Masters, passed away June 7, 2013.
Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Raymond and Anna (Kuhns) Masters. He graduated from William Allen High School in 1944. He was a member of St. Luke's Union Church, Shoemakersville. He worked as service manager at AM Multigraphs- Allentown and Reading for 37 years retiring in 1989. He was a Sunday school teacher at church, and member of the church board for many years; he also served as a former trustee for St. Luke's Cemetery, and was a member of the former Shoey-Leesport Rotary Club. Edward was an avid bowler, having bowled in many leagues over the years, and bowled a perfect game at the age of 70!
He is survived by three daughters: Donna L. Adams, Virginia; Diana L. Anthony, Shoemakersville; and Dawn L. Hughes, Wyomissing; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother: Thomas Masters.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street Hamburg (Off-Street parking in rear). Burial will follow in St. Luke's Cemetery, Shoemakersville. A viewing will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 am in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to: Keystone Military Families, 331 Main Street, Shoemakersville, PA 19555.
