Doris J. Boyer, 82, of Bern Twp., passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2018 in ManorCare, Laureldale. She was the wife of Gerald A. Boyer, who died January 20, 2017.
Born in Lebanon, she was the daughter of the late William and Ethel Shutter. She was a member of Bern Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bern Twp. Doris enjoyed ceramics and crafts.
Doris is survived by one son: Scot A. Boyer, husband of Marion M. (Kulp) Boyer, Bern Twp.; one brother: Barry Shutters, Oxford, Massachusetts; and two sisters: Diane Smitters, Albany, New York; and Lucille Essig, New Albany, Sullivan County.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday at 1:00 pm at Bern Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Alzheimer's Association, 399 Market Street, #102, Philadelphia, PA 19106 or Humane Society of Berks County, 1801 N. 11th Street, Reading, PA 19604.
