Obituary for Donald R. Shuman Sr.

Donald R. Shuman, Sr., 89, of Tilden Twp., and formerly of Shoemakersville where he resided for fifty-eight years, passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2021 in his residence. He was the husband of Emily A. (Yeager) Shuman. They were married on June 28, 1958 and celebrated sixty-two years of marriage.
Born in Blandon, he was the son of the late Charles and Annie (Weidenheimer) Shuman. Donald worked as a tank cleaner for Glidden Paint Company for thirty-nine years. He also worked for twenty years for the Shoemakersville and Hamburg Laundromats. He was a member of St. Luke’s Church, Shoemakersville. Donald enjoyed trap shooting. He was a life member of Vaux Lodge #406 F & AM, Hamburg; a member of Rajah Shrine and Consistory; and a life member of various gun clubs and fire companies.
Surviving in addition to his wife is one son: Donald R. Shuman, Jr., and his wife Sherry, Tilden Twp.; one daughter: Donna L. Remp, wife of Leon, Spring Twp.; eight grandchildren: Joseph Remp, husband of Donna; Jessica (Remp), wife of Stephen Reznick; Jaime (Remp), wife of Brian Rogers; Johnathan Remp, husband of Christin; Jacob Remp; Julianna Remp; Skylar Shuman and Jenna Shuman; and eight great-grandchildren. Donald was predeceased by his brothers: Charles, Samuel, Harold, James, Stuart and Kenneth; and sisters: Dorothy, Edna and Anna.
Services were private at the convenience of the family. Burial was in Maidencreek Cemetery.
