Donald W. Ortner, Jr., "Daddy Dog", 64, of Hamburg, passed away suddenly on Monday, August 13, 2018 in the Reading Hospital. He was the husband of Connie S. (Correll) Rothermel. They were married on June 2, 2006 and celebrated twelve years of marriage.
Born in Reading, he was the son of Donald W., Sr. and Carolyn J. (DiGuardi) Ortner, of Reading. He was a truck driver for Summers Trucking, Ephrata. Donny was also the guitar player, vocalist, and sound and lighting technician for Mystic Warrior. He enjoyed riding motorcycle and golfing.
Surviving in addition to his wife and parents are two sons: Donald W. Ortner, III, and his wife Melissa, Douglassville; and Shane D. Ortner, Birdsboro; three granddaughters: Antoinette, Melodie and Brianna; one brother: Kevin D. Ortner, Temple; and one sister: Jennifer L. Ortner, Reading. Donny was predeceased by a sister: Brenda K. Ortner.
A Celebration of Donny’s Life will be held on Monday, August 20, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Oley Fire Company, 477A Main Street, Oley. Words of Remembrance will be given by Rich Moyer at 5:30 pm, followed by refreshments.
