Obituary for Donald H. Francis
Donald H. Francis, 81, of Hamburg, passed away on Friday, August 20, 2021 in St. Luke's Hospital Inpatient Hospice, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Jane E. (Hartman) Francis. They were married on August 15, 1959 and celebrated sixty-two years of marriage.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late George and Mabel (Lengel) Francis. Donald was a 1958 graduate of Hamburg High School. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Donald was a member of Russel M. Butterweck #465 Marine Corps League. He was a carpenter working for Ernst Construction, Hamburg, as well as various other companies. Donald was also a code enforcement officer working for Bethlehem Township, Borough of Wyomissing and Great Valley Consultants. He was a member of Salem-Berne United Methodist Church, Tilden Twp. Donald was also a member of the Hamburg Game Association; and enjoyed fishing.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons: Brian K. Francis, husband of Lisa L. (Deutsch) Francis, Auburn; and Corey A. Francis, husband of Sandi J. Sprague, Methuen, Massachusetts; and two grandchildren: Madison and Mackenzie.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at 10:30 am from Salem-Berne United Methodist Church, 292 Salem Church Road, Hamburg. Burial with military honors will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Hamburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Doberman Pinscher Rescue of PA, Inc., c/o Treasurer, P.O.
