Obituary for Diane M. O'Brien-Groff (Jindela)

Diane M. O'Brien-Groff, 73, of Muhlenberg Twp., passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2021 in Phoebe Berks Healthcare Center, Wernersville. She was the wife of Stephen A. Groff to whom she was married for twenty-nine years.
Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Rudolph and Clara (Gallucci) Jindela. Diane was a graduate of St. Michael's High School, Union City, NJ; and Alvernia College. Prior to graduating from Alvernia, she received her paralegal certificate from Penn State. She worked as a legal secretary, records management, and as an assistant corporate secretary for Met-Ed for thirty-seven years. She then worked for William Koch and Company as an administrative assistant. Diane was a member of Holy Guardian Angels R.C. Church. She was a member of American Records Management Association, where she was a former president of the local chapter. Diane's family was very important to her. She enjoyed traveling to Florida a few times a year to visit her daughter Jennifer. Diane also enjoyed yearly trips to France with her husband, shopping trips and lunch dates with her daughters and relaxing on the beach. The family would like to thank the staff of the Chateau at Phoebe Berks for their kindness and for taking such good care of Diane.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters: Jennifer L. O'Brien, Jupiter, Florida; and Melissa S. (O'Brien), wife of Keith Kauffman, Shoemakersville; and two grandchildren: Keeley and Hayes Kauffman. Diane is also survived by a brother: Joseph Jindela, husband of LuAnn, Lancaster.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11:00 am from Holy Guardian Angels Church, 3121 Kutztown Road, Reading. Burial will follow in Laureldale Cemetery. A viewing will be held in the church Saturday 10:00 to 11:00 am. Covid-19 protocols must be followed. Those attending must wear masks and practice social distancing.
