Obituary for Dennis A. Miller

Dennis A. Miller, 65, of Tilden Twp., passed away unexpectedly Thursday, December 7, 2023 in his residence. He was the husband of the late Faith A. (Wisser) Miller, died April 13, 2020.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Harold L. "Freck" Miller and Anna M. (Krommes) Spease. He graduated from Hamburg Area High School in 1976. He was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hamburg. He worked as an operating manager at GHM, Deer Lake for many years, and most recently for Penn Graphics as a technician. Dennis served as Scoutmaster of Troop 184 since 1992, and was instrumental in guiding the way for almost 70 Eagle Scouts during that time. He was proud of being a Vigil Honor member in the Order of the Arrow and being awarded multiple eagle scout mentor pins. He enjoyed woodworking, restoring old cars, and tinkering. He was often known as a master of all. He was a pillar of his family as well as within his community.

Dennis is survived by a daughter: Lindsay A. Miller, Tilden Twp.; a son: Michael A. Miller, husband of Keilae R. (Shollenberger), Lower Pottsgrove Twp.; and a granddaughter: Elleanor R. Miller. He is also survived by a brother: Glenn H. Miller, husband of Helen (Sholl) Miller, Upper Tulpehocken Twp.; two sisters: Linda A. (Miller) Hudson, widow of Larry Hudson, Upper Tulpehocken Twp.; and Debra J. (Miller) Wenger, widow of Dale Wenger, Upper Bern Twp.; and his canine companion: Molly. Dennis was predeceased by a son: Daniel A. Miller, died May 20, 1999.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at 11:00 am from St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 99 Church Street Hamburg, PA 19526. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Hamburg. A viewing will be held Monday, December 11, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street Hamburg (off street parking in rear), with Boy Scout Vespers being spoken at 7:30 pm, and Tuesday, 9:30 to 11:00 am in the church.
