Obituary for Dennis L. Herber
Dennis L. Herber, 77, of Perry Twp., passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, while hunting with his son. He was the husband of Carol A. (Folk) Herber. They were married on March 16, 1968 and celebrated fifty-three years of marriage.
Born in West Reading, he was the son of the late Lester Herber and Dorothy (Reppert) Herber Sunday. Dennis was a 1962 graduate of Hamburg High School. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Dennis worked in the boiler room at the Hamburg Center until his retirement. He was a member of St. John's (Gernant's) Church, Ontelaunee Twp. Dennis was a fifty year member of Vaux Lodge #406 F&AM, Hamburg. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and playing BlueGrass music on his mandolin. Dennis especially loved his family.
Surviving in addition to his wife Carol is one son: Brian D. Herber, husband of Kim E. (Weida) Herber, McAdoo; and one sister: Jean (Herber) Spease, Orwigsburg Center.
Services for Dennis will be held on Tuesday at 1:30 pm at Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street, Hamburg (off street parking in rear). Burial will follow in Zion's Cemetery, Perry Twp. A viewing will be held in the funeral home Tuesday 12:00 noon to 1:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent the Pennsylvania Federation of Sportsmen and Conservationists, 2426 N. 2nd Street, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
