Obituary for David J. Sheipe
David J. Sheipe, 77, of Maidencreek Twp., passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2020 in Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center. He was the husband of Lorraine F. (Haag) Sheipe, to whom she was married for fifty-four years.
Born in West Reading, he was the son of the late John A. and Marian D. (Kerr) Sheipe. David was a 1962 graduate of Perry High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. David last worked for Carpenter Technology. He was a member and past president of the South End Gun Club; as well as being a member of various gun clubs. David was also a member of Vaux Lodge #406 F. & A.M., Hamburg; and the Rajah Shrine. David enjoyed trap shooting, snowmobiling, motorcycling and hunting. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his wife is one daughter: Lori (Sheipe), wife of Brett Miller, Blandon; two grandchildren: Slayde and Brooklyn Miller; and one sister: Georgene (Sheipe) Oswald, Muhlenberg Twp.
Services will be held on Tuesday at 7:00 pm from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport. A viewing will be held in the funeral home Tuesday 5:30 to 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Lebanon VA Medical Center, 1700 S. Lincoln Avenue, Lebanon, PA 17042. Please follow COVID-19 protocols.
