Obituary for Craig N.L. Rentschler

Craig N.L. Rentschler, 68, of Shoemakersville, passed away Saturday, February 19, 2022 in his residence. He was the husband of Lynne M. (Melcher) Rentschler. They were married September 10, 2005.

Born in Reading, he was the son of Norman L. and Rose Marie (Blackwell) Rentschler. He graduated from Hamburg Area High School in 1971. Craig worked as a tow motor operator for General Battery for 20+ years before moving on to Tower Health as a Security Guard for the past 27 years before becoming ill. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and always enjoyed Disney. He was a member of Deer Lake HOG, Schuylkill County Motorcycle Club, Reading Motorcycle Club, and was a former member of Schuylkill County Motorcycle Drill Team. He was a fan of racing, especially sprint cars. Craig will always be remembered as a hard worker, humanitarian, and he would do anything for anyone. He had a high level of affinity for his Reading Hospital co-workers.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters: Cathy J. (Rentschler) Erkert, Tilden Twp., and Jill E. (Rentschler) Fernandez, Flying Hills; and a son. He is also survived by Lynne's daughter: Kelly L. (Schwank) Bohn, wife of Justin L., Sinking Spring; and Lynne's son: Stephen J. Schwank, husband of Kelly M. (Ebelhar), Fleetwood; six grandchildren; 1 great grandchild with one on the way; two brothers: Aaron N.L. Rentschler, and Lance B.K. Rentschler, Shoemakersville. He is also survived by his pets at home: Harley, Boca, Lily, and Shadow. He was predeceased by a brother: Brian Rentschler.

Memorial Services will be held Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at 7:30 pm from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street Leesport. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to Muscular Dystrophy Association c/o Schaeffer's Harley Davidson, 1123 Brick Hill Rd, Orwigsburg, PA 17961, or Berks County Animal Rescue League, 58 Kennel Road, Birdsboro, PA 19508.
