Obituary for Charles W. Kramer

Charles W. Kramer, 91, of Hamburg, passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2019 in his residence. He was the husband of Judy C. (Bashore) Kramer. They were married on August 10, 1980 and celebrated thirty-eight years of marriage.
Born in Tilden Twp., he was the son of the late Frank and Irene (Stine) Kramer. Charles worked for Maidencreek Township; Wengert Construction; and retired from Gyetronics in Mohnton. He was an active member of St. John's (Gernant's) Church, Ontelaunee Twp., and volunteered with the former Tuesday fellowship lunch. In his younger years, he was active with Boy Scout Troop 120 at First United Church of Christ in Hamburg and the Y Princesses. Charles was a member of Union Fire Company No. 1 and beneficial association, Hamburg; and a former member of the Hawk Mountain Civic Club and Shartlesville Fire Company. He enjoyed working on cars, camping, and working outside. Charles especially enjoyed spending time with his entire family.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his children: David C. Kramer, and his wife Alecia, Windsor Twp.; Phianna A. (Kramer), wife of John Gring, Tilden Twp.; Lydia A. Kramer and Barbara Ann (Kramer) Matz, both of Gainesboro, Tennessee; Robin A. (Kramer) Oney, Hamburg; Ethel A. Kramer, Centerport; and Elizabeth J. (Kramer), wife of Jason Witters, Leesport; fourteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Charles is also survived by one brother: Robert W. Kramer, and his wife Virginia, Mohrsville; two sisters: Marie Rentschler,, wife of Charles, Reading; and Miriam Woerner, widow of Adam, Schuylkill Haven; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother: George W. Kramer.
Services will be held on Thursday at 7:00 pm from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street, Hamburg (off street parking in rear). A viewing will be held in the funeral home Thursday 5:30 to 7:00 pm. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
