Betty J. Dreibelbis, 92, of Perry Twp., passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2021 in Reading Hospital. She was the wife of the late Lloyd E. Dreibelbis, passed away August 2, 1999.
Born in Windsor Castle, she was the daughter of the late Howard H. and Olive G. (Faust) Schappell. SHe was a member of Zion's Church, Windsor Twp. She graduated from Hamburg High School in 1945. Betty was employed previously at Burkey Knitting Mills, Hamburg; Clark's Diner, Shoemakersville; Ontelaunee Orchards, Leesport; and W.H. Dreibelbis and Sons, Shoemakersville. In her early years Betty enjoyed hoedowning at the Windsor Castle dance hall and country music at Himmelreich's Grove. As a homemaker, she enjoyed baking cakes, pies and dozens of Christmas cookies. She was a generous and kind person and is sorely missed by family and friends. She was a 66 year member of the Virginville Grange.
She is survived by a daughter: Carolyn B. (Dreibelbis) wife of Carl E. Hollenbach, and Gary L. Dreibelbis, both of Shoemakersville; three grandchildren: Susan Blatt (Brian), Kutztown, Amy Hollenbach, Mertztown, and Daniel Hollenbach (Amanda), Hamburg; and four great-grandchildren: Ayla Blatt, Mackenzie Blatt, Anthony Hollenbach, and Grayson Hollenbach. She is also survived by a brother: Lee Schappell, Shoemakersville. She was predeceased by a brother: Wayne H. Schappell and a sister: Dora G. (Schappell) Grim.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at 2:00 pm from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street Hamburg (Off-Street Parking in Rear). Burial will follow in Zion's Cemetery, Perry Twp. A viewing will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 pm in the funeral home.
