Obituary for Bernice F. "Bonnie" Sterner (Dunton)

Bernice “Bonnie” Sterner, 80, passed away peacefully in her Mertztown, PA home on Sunday, February 27, 2022 surrounded by her children, her husband of 55-years, Robert “Bob” Sterner, and her beloved dog, Mochi.
Born on November 27, 1941 at Community General Hospital in Reading, Pennsylvania, Bonnie was a graduate of Hamburg Area High School. She met her husband, Bob, while working at the Hamburg Center and they married in 1966. In addition to the Hamburg Center, Bonnie worked at various places over the years including Wright’s Knitting Mill, Shurfine Grocery, and Cabela’s.
Bonnie was an outstanding wife, mother to her five children, and Nana to her 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was incredibly kind and selfless, always putting others first and making everyone she came in contact with feel special, even during her final days. Bonnie loved any and all animals (especially the neighborhood deer), Clover Farms Icy Tea, and Johnny Mathis. Her home cooking, especially her desserts, were the center of every Sterner holiday or gathering. When you entered Bonnie’s home, you were always greeted with open arms and were guaranteed to leave with a full belly and a smile on your face.
Bonnie leaves behind her Husband, Robert C. Sterner of Mertztown, PA, her Children: Robert L. Sterner and wife Susan of Pittsgrove, NJ, Barry F. Sterner of Fleetwood, PA, Shawn R. Sterner and wife Kimberly of Mertztown, PA, Brad D. Sterner and wife Alicia of Elizabethtown, PA, and Janelle L. Rhoads and husband Ryan of Blandon, PA, her beloved Grandchildren: Kailey Quinton and husband Adam, Kelsey Wood and husband Robert, Victoria Kuebler and husband Steven, Zachary Kuebler and fiancee, Chelsea, Brenna Neider, Alexandra Sterner and her fiance, Jonathan, Dameon Neider, Joshua Sterner, Alivia Neider, Addison Sterner, Matthew Sterner and Lola Neider, and her Great-Grandchildren, Connor, Rylee, and Cole. She is predeceased by her precious four-legged children Tasha, King, and Ginger.
Per Bonnie’s wishes, no service will be held.
