Obituary for William S. Kauffman

William S. Kauffman, 85, formerly of Temple, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2017 in Phoebe Berks Health Care Center, Wernersville.
He was the husband of Anna M. (Bubbenmoyer) Kauffman, who died August 27, 2016. They were married on July 5, 1952.
Born in Tilden Twp., he was the son of the late William R. and Helen L. (Berger) Kauffman. William was a 1948 graduate of Hamburg High School and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting from Pennsylvania State University. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. William last worked as treasurer for All Star Distributing, retiring in 2001. He previously worked for Bachman Bakeries Corporation, Boyertown Packaging, and Wertz Engineering, Inc., where he was the corporate financial officer. William was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Reading, where he was a former member and treasurer of church council and choir member for many years. He was a member of the Muhlenberg Chorus, Horizon Center Chorus, Chandler Lodge #227 F & AM, and Rajah Shrine. William was a Penn State fan, enjoyed playing golf and following his grandchildren in their endeavors. He was also a member of a camping club and traveled all over the United States and beyond.
William is survived by one daughter: Kathy A. (Kauffman), wife of Edward H. Muldoon, Robesonia; three grandchildren: Christopher R. Muldoon, and his wife Amanda; Alicia N. (Muldoon), wife of Tyson Mayer, and Shannon L. Muldoon, fiance of Matthew Holt; one great-grandson: Cameron Michael Mayer; and a second great-grandchild expected this month. He was predeceased by one brother: Donald Kauffman; and three sisters; Thelma Scharadin, Mary Ernst, and Betty Seaman.
Services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street, Hamburg (off street parking in rear). Burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Tilden Twp. A viewing will be held in the funeral home Wednesday 10:00 to 11:00 am.
