Obituary for Marguerite E. Hepner (Sonday)

Marguerite E. Hepner, 98, formerly of Hamburg, a resident at Topton Lutheran Home, died Saturday, July 23, 2016 in Topton Lutheran Home. She was the wife of Carl H. Hepner, died August 26, 1999.
Born in Tilden Twp., she was the daughter of the late Charles S. and Alma F. (Seaman) Sonday. She graduated from Hamburg High School in 1934, and graduated from McCann's Business School, Reading as a bookkeeper. She was a member of Zion's Lutheran Church, Perry Twp. She worked as a bookkeeper for Alan Sherman Hoff, Hamburg, and Fryer's Store, Hamburg. She was a member of Blue Mountain Chapter No. 443 Order of the Eastern Star, Woman's Club of Hamburg, and she was a 4H leader for over 25 years. She also served as pianist/organist at various area churches.
Surviving is a daughter: Doris F. (Hepner) wife of Larry A. Schappell, Maxatawny Twp.; four grandchildren: Roger Hepner, Thomas Hepner, Kevin Schappell, and Erica (Schappell) Adams; five great-grandchildren: Nicholas Hepner, Amanda Hepner, Cody Hepner, Hannah Schappell, and Emma Schappell; and a daughter in law: Rebecca S. Hepner, Florida. She was predeceased by a son: Clair R. Hepner, died 1985, and a half brother: John Rentschler.
Services will be held Friday, July 29, 2016 at 11:00 am from Zion's Lutheran Church, 354 Zion Church Rd. Shoemakersville, PA 19555. Burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery.
