Carlene F. Ulrich, 68, of Mt. Penn, passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 in the Laurel Center, Tilden Twp.
She was the daughter of the late Clifford J., Sr. and Alice M. (Manmiller) Ulrich. Carlene was a graduate of Fleetwood High School and a college in Illinois. She also graduated from nursing school. While living in Illinois, she was a teacher. Carlene then worked as a nurse for the Berks Heim until her retirement. She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Mt. Penn. Carlene was also a member of The Seeing Eye and the American Ministries of the Deaf and would sign for people at church during the sermons.
Carlene is survived by one brother: Clifford J. Ulrich, Sr., and his wife Shirley, Shoemakersville; two sisters: Lynda L. (Ulrich) Shappell, Milton; and Patricia A. (Ulrich), wife of Robert L. Hoch, Sr., Tilden Twp.; many nieces and nephews; and her best friend: June Offenderlein. She was predeceased by two brothers: Harold and Ricky Ulrich; and two sisters: Laura (Ulrich) Weist and Sandra (Ulrich) Long.
