Dorothy M. Kauffman, 85, of Shoemakersville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 30, 2016. She is survived by her devoted husband of 65 years, John A. "Jack" Kauffman.
Born in Hamburg, she was the daughter of the late Nevin C. and Verna O. (Zweizig) Adam. Dorothy was a 1948 graduate of Perry High School and a 1950 graduate of Reading Business Institute. She was employed by Charles H. Haag Ford, Shoemakersville, which was owned by her father Nevin Adam. She also worked with her husband Jack for 38 years in managing their landscaping business. Dorothy was a skilled accordionist, playing with an orchestra throughout the area as a youth. She was an active member of St. Luke's Church, Shoemakersville, where she enjoyed singing in the choir for fifty years. Dorothy also taught Sunday School at church for two years. She enjoyed traveling but most of all loved her home, her family and sisters. Dorothy was a kind and loving member of the family and community. She will be missed greatly. Dorothy will find peace with her parents and son Paul.

Kauffman, whose death in 1985 pained her greatly.
Services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am from St. Luke's Church, Fifth and Franklin Streets, Shoemakersville, PA 19555. Burial will follow in Zion's Cemetery, Perry Twp.
