Obituary for William David Freiwald

William David Freiwald, 68, of Leesport, passed away on Friday, January 22, 2016 in the Reading Hospital. He was the husband of Patricia D. (Miller) Freiwald. They were married on May 2, 1987 and celebrated 28 years of marriage.
Born in Pottsville, he was the son of Jeanette (Siluk) Freiwald, New Ringgold; and the late Herman "Willy" Freiwald. He was a 1965 graduate of Blue Mountain High School. David was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. While serving in the military, he was a Navy Seabee. David worked for Giorgio Mushroom; and previously worked for the Hamburg Center and Pennsylvania Steel Foundry. He was also a bartender for forty years at Smith's Country Inn, New Ringgold. David was a "jack of all trades." He was a life member of American Legion, Orwigsburg; a life member and former quarter master of Wagner-Good Post #216 V.F.W., Hamburg; a member of the Loyal Order of Moose #523, Hamburg; Hamburg Game Association; New Ringgold Fire Company; and the Keystone Social Club.
Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are three sons: David J. Freiwald, and his wife Teresa, Schuylkill Haven; Jason C. "Bubba" Kleinsmith, husband of Elizabeth, Lenhartsville; and Eric A. Kleinsmith, fiance of Antoinette Shipe, Leesport; and nine grandchildren. David is also survived by four brothers: Robert Freiwald, California; Thomas Freiwald, North Carolina; Jeff Freiwald, and Jerry Freiwald, both of New Ringgold; and his mother-in-law: Arlene B. Miller, Leesport. He was predeceased by a daughter: Crystal A. (Freiwald) Adam, died February 1, 2009; a brother: Rick Freiwald; and an infant sister: Beverly Freiwald.
Services will be held on Wednesday at 12:30 pm from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport. Burial with military honors will follow in Leesport Cemetery.
